Ask these questions in writing before you book. A reputable provider will answer them clearly. Evasion or vague responses are a red flag.
- Is the partner organisation registered with the Fijian Ministry for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation (for community programs)?
- (Marine) What's the program's relationship with the Fiji Locally-Managed Marine Area network?
- What's the village protocol — sevusevu ceremony, dress, behaviour expectations?
- What's the visa pathway — Visitor permit vs Special Purpose visa?
