Ask these questions in writing before you book. A reputable provider will answer them clearly. Evasion or vague responses are a red flag.
- Is the program registered with the Department of Social Welfare (for children's services) or relevant Ghanaian ministry?
- Are placements at residential children's homes? (Refuse if yes.)
- What's the school's accreditation with the Ghana Education Service?
- What's your visa pathway, and how have past volunteers cleared immigration?
