Ask these questions in writing before you book. A reputable provider will answer them clearly. Evasion or vague responses are a red flag.
- Is the partner organisation registered with SUNAT and APCI (the Peruvian Agency for International Cooperation)?
- Are placements at residential children's homes?
- What's the relationship with SERNANP (national protected areas) for any Amazon project?
- What's the altitude-acclimatisation protocol if the placement is at high altitude?
